All the participants arrive in Islamabad and this tour includes round trip transportation.

We will start our tour by exploring the site of Islamabad, the administrative capital of Pakistan. The city is located in the foothills of the Margalla Hills. Here, we may visit the most famous Faisal Mosque, the largest in South Asia and the sixth largest in the world. We will also visit the famous shopping and eating precincts to get a feel of modern Pakistan.

We will take an early start from Islamabad towards our next destination, Babusar Pass (13,691 feet). On the way we will be travelling through the scenic wonderland of Kaghan and Naran Valleys – Evergreen Pine Forests and cross the famous Babusar Pass. This whole journey offers tremendous Photo and sight-seeing opportunities. By late afternoon we will stop for the night rest on KKH.

KKH:- Karakoram Highway is undoubtedly one of the most challenging road. Running along the mighty INDUS River, this road offers unique scenic views of the river snaking through these mountains. KKH is a popular tourist attraction, and is one of the highest paved roads in the world, passing through the Karakoram mountain range, at maximum elevation of 15,466 ft. Due to its high elevation and the difficult conditions in which it was constructed, it is often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World.

Night at KATPANA:- We ll reach Skardu by evening and enjoy our dinner. Late night coffee / tea, we ll enjoy the campfire, share laghters and amaze our senses by watching the stars and galaxy.

KATPANA:- Explore the Cold Desert, also known as the Katpana Desert or Biama Nakpo, is a high-altitude desert located near Skardu, in Pakistan's northern Gilgit-Baltistan region. The desert contains expanses of large sand dunes that are sometimes covered in snow during winter.

Nearest locations and vantage points include; Satpara Lake, Kachura Lake, Shangrila Lake, Shigar Valley, Khaplu and many more.

You are acclimatized and started enjoying everything around and this is the time when we will begin our ascent towards the World’s 2nd highest plateau. On the way we will see Satpara Lake and village and then slowly start our final ascent. Within 3 hours we will reach DEOSAI, Bara Pani Camp. We will spend 1 or 2 nights here and it depends upon conditions on ground.

DEOSAI PLAINS:- being one of the highest plateaus in the world with an average elevation of 13,497 ft lies between Skardu and Astore valley in Gilgit-Baltistan. Having extreme climate conditions and very short lived summer season of merely 2 to 3 months, hundreds of wild flowers complete their lifecycle within a very short span of 4 - 6 weeks each. However this fragile and unique ecosystem becomes home to many endangered species of flora and fauna.

Bara Pani, Himalayan Brown Bear, Wild Flowers and Sheosar Lake are the main attractions here.

On the top of Astore Valley, Rama Lake and valley harbours lush green pastures, thick forests of birch, pine, cedar, fir and junipers. Summer is the season when local shepherds and villagers enjoy much of its pastures. We will spend time to explore the trek to Rama Lake itself, the forest, local foods, music with campfire and of course a great late night star gazing some laughter as well.

We will reach Gilgit city by the evening. Gilgit is the administrative capital of the province Gilgit-Baltistan and has been a famous city along the ancient Silk Road serving as a corridor to spread Buddhism in the Asia. Being one of the busiest cities of this area, it offers opportunities of street photography and capture the buzz of modern life in Karakorams.
Eating places along the river bank are a great attraction for food lovers. It’s a lovely place to enjoy the atmosphere, relax and sleep well.

Next morning, after breakfast we will hit the road towards Hunza.

We will spend these days in exploring and photographing HUNZA, KHUNJERAB and NAGAR Valleys, while learning and enjoying nature in the best possible way. Early morning starts, light walks along the trees and capturing the romance of flowering trees against the deep blue sky. People of this area are very much welcoming with beautiful smiles. Before the evening you will find yourself sitting in the middle of this cup shaped valley which is surrounded by snow clad mountains.

We will also manage to experience the sunrise during the magical hours and pay a visit to the historical Altit and Baltit forts of the ancient rulers of Hunza Valley.
Walnut cake is a local speciality made from pure organic ingredients. We will cherish our evenings while witnessing the last light on falling on the mountain tops. This will be our lifestyle throughout these days in these Valleys.

Next morning, we will be heading back to Islamabad where we will have our good bye dinner and debriefing session.

We do our best to keep you comfortable but let us know if there is something that you can’t eat, please let us know. Weather in these mountains is unpredictable. During the day it will be pleasant but the nights can be really cold so you need to bring warm clothes and a light jacket. A comfortable pair of shoes, a good hat, warm gloves and sunblock is recommended.

In terms of camera kit you can bring your kit but a light and sturdy tripod with some lenses for landscapes and general photo opportunities such as a 24-70mm for landscapes is the favourite choice. I would suggest a macro lens of some sort and then maybe an intermediate zoom (70-200 or 100-400) so that you don’t miss anything in terms of opportunity. During the evenings we will have a chance to critique and look at participants’ work.
